Privacy Policy

1 Overview

PDF Converter is developed and operated by TechCreativeLab. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Converting a PDF into another format happens on our servers with the help of a specialised conversion provider, so the PDF you choose is uploaded for the duration of the conversion. We have designed the app to handle your file for the shortest time possible, to keep the result only on your device, and to tie everything else to an anonymous identifier rather than to you.

2 Your Files

The PDF you convert is uploaded over an encrypted connection, converted, and deleted from our servers as soon as the conversion finishes, whether it succeeded or failed. We do not read, analyse, or keep it. Our conversion provider, ConvertAPI, also removes it from its own servers automatically shortly after processing. If a PDF is password-protected, the password is checked on your device first and is used only to open the file for conversion.

Your converted files are saved only on your device, in the app's Files tab. We do not keep a copy of them, nor a list of their names, on any server. Deleting a file in the app, or deleting the app, removes them.

3 Information We Collect

Apart from the files described above, the app handles the following data. It is linked to an anonymous identifier, never to your name.

• Basic app information: the app version, the platform, and how often the app is opened.
• Conversion count: how many conversions you have made, so we can manage your free quota. No file names or contents are stored.
• Subscription status: whether Premium is active.
• Support messages: the text you type in Contact us or Send feedback, with an email address only if you choose to add one (section 7).
• Usage analytics and crash reports (section 6).

We do not collect your name, email address (unless you provide it for support), contacts, photos, location, or advertising identifier, and we do not show ads.

4 Data Stored on Your Device

The app keeps the following data locally in its private storage area on your device:

• Your converted files and the list shown in the Files tab. They are excluded from iCloud and device backups.
• Your appearance preference (system, light, or dark) and whether you have completed onboarding
• Your Premium status, cached so the app can unlock features while offline

When you open a PDF, the app uses the standard iOS document picker, so it can only read the specific file you choose. It does not scan, index, or upload any other files on your device.

5 No Account, Anonymous Use

PDF Converter does not require an account, has no sign-in, and never asks for your name. Your free-conversion count and your Premium purchase are linked to an anonymous identifier rather than to you, so they can be restored if you reinstall the app. This identifier is not derived from your Apple ID, your phone number, your advertising identifier, or any other personal information, and it cannot be used to identify you by itself.

Our records contain no name, email address (unless you give one to support), contact details, precise location, file names, or document content.

6 Analytics & Crash Reports

We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to understand how the app is used, to find bugs, and to improve it. This data is collected through Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics (Google services) and is tied to your anonymous identifier rather than to your name. It includes:

• Device model, operating system version, app version, and language settings
• App lifecycle events (the app being installed, updated, opened, or sent to the background)
• Product events such as onboarding completed, the Premium screen shown, a purchase completed or restored, a conversion started, succeeded, or failed, a file shared or deleted, and the rating prompt shown, together with details such as the chosen output format
• Crash reports, including the device state and the part of the app that was running when a crash occurred
• Your IP address, which Google receives as part of any internet connection and may use to derive an approximate location (country or city). We do not access your device's location services.

Analytics events and crash reports never include the contents or names of your documents. This data cannot be used to identify you personally, and we do not link it to any personal information.

The app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

7 Support Contact Information

If you contact us through the app's Contact us or Send feedback forms, your message is stored with Google Firebase together with the kind of message, the app version, and the platform, so we can troubleshoot. Providing your email address is optional: add it only if you want a reply. If you write to us directly, your email app sends the message to support@techcreativelab.com and we receive your email address in the normal way.

We use this information for one purpose only: to answer your request. Your email and messages are not used for marketing and are never shared with third parties. We keep support conversations only as long as needed to resolve your request and for up to 12 months afterwards in case you follow up. You can ask us to delete your support correspondence at any time using the contact details below.

8 What We Do Not Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not do:

• We do not ask for your name, email address, or any contact information to use the app; we only receive an email address if you choose to include one when contacting support
• We do not keep your original PDF after the conversion finishes, and we do not read or analyse its contents
• We do not keep your converted files, or a list of them, on any server
• We do not access your photo library, contacts, or any files other than the PDFs you choose
• We do not access your device's location services (GPS)
• We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) or track you across other apps and websites
• We do not display advertisements
• We do not sell your data to third parties, ever
• We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers

9 Free Tier, Subscriptions & Purchases

PDF Converter is free to download and includes a limited number of free conversions per device, shown in the app. Reinstalling the app does not reset your conversion count.

Optional Premium plans unlock unlimited conversions, OCR for scanned PDFs, and conversion of password-protected PDFs. Premium is available as auto-renewing Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly subscriptions, and some plans may include a free trial, as shown in the app before you buy. All purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store, and purchase entitlements are validated through RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives your anonymous identifier and the purchase information Apple provides (such as the product purchased, the purchase and renewal dates, and the App Store transaction identifiers) so it can tell the app whether Premium is active and restore purchases on a new device.

We do not collect or store your payment information, and we never see your credit card or Apple ID details. Apple processes all transactions in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your iPhone Settings under your Apple ID → Subscriptions. See our Terms of Use for the full purchase terms.

The app may occasionally invite you to rate it after a successful conversion. The rating itself is handled by Apple's built-in review system, which does not tell us whether or how you rated the app; we only record that the prompt was shown or that you tapped "Rate now", so that we do not ask again.

10 How Long We Keep Data

• Your uploaded PDF is deleted from our servers as soon as the conversion finishes, whether it succeeded or failed. Any leftovers are purged automatically within 24 hours.
• Your converted files are stored only on your device and never on our servers. Deleting a file in the Files tab, or deleting the app, removes them.
• Your conversion count, usage data, and subscription status are kept so that your free quota and Premium can be restored after a reinstall. You can ask us to delete them at any time (section 12).
• Support messages are kept until resolved and then for up to 12 months.
• Analytics and crash data are retained by Google for the periods configured in Firebase (up to 14 months for analytics events and 90 days for crash reports).

11 Data Security

All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Our servers only accept requests from genuine copies of the app, and each device can access only its own record. Your converted files are protected on your device by the security features of iOS, including device encryption and the app sandbox, which prevents other apps from reading PDF Converter's files. We follow industry best practices for data security. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12 Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, the UK, or California), you may have the following rights:

• Right to know what data we collect and how we use it
• Right to deletion of the data we hold about your use of the app, and of any support conversation you have sent us
• Right to access, correct, or export the data we hold about you
• Right to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority
• Right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we don't sell data, but this right applies)
• Right to non-discrimination, meaning exercising your rights will never affect your access to the app

Your converted files are only on your device, so you can delete them yourself at any time from the Files tab. To erase everything we hold, contact us using the details below, tell us roughly when you installed the app and which device you used, and we will locate and delete your data and any support messages. We respond within 30 days.

13 Legal Basis (EU/EEA and UK users)

We process your data to perform the service you requested (converting your files and managing your subscription), on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and improving it (fraud prevention, analytics, crash reporting), and to comply with legal obligations. Where consent is required by law, we will ask for it.

14 Children's Privacy

PDF Converter is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

15 Third-Party Services

PDF Converter uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase, which runs our servers, holds your PDF while it is being converted, stores your usage data and support messages, and provides anonymous usage analytics and crash reports. Data is hosted in the European Union (firebase.google.com)
• ConvertAPI (UAB "Baltsoft"), which performs the file conversion. Your PDF is sent to ConvertAPI over an encrypted connection from our servers, converted, and the result is returned to us. ConvertAPI deletes uploaded and converted files from its servers automatically shortly after processing (convertapi.com)
• RevenueCat, which validates in-app purchases and subscriptions using an anonymous identifier and Apple's purchase information (revenuecat.com)
• Apple App Store, for app distribution, payment processing, subscriptions, and refunds (apple.com/legal/privacy)

Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by those providers.

16 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, tell you in the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
